Guest Speaker: Dr. Tobi Nagel

Founder & President, Phages for Global Health

Presenter Bio:
Dr. Tobi Nagel is the Founder and President of Phages for Global Health, a non-profit organization advancing phage-based alternatives to antibiotics in Africa and Asia, where antimicrobial resistance poses the greatest burden.

She holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University and a PhD in Medical Engineering from the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Science & Technology. With over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Nagel has co-developed drugs tested in more than 80 clinical trials.

As a Fulbright Global Scholar, she is interested in shaping policy on phage use regulation across multiple countries, including Uganda. She also serves as an NIH Ad Hoc reviewer on bacteriophage therapy, advisor to Phages for Human Applications Team in Europe, founding Editorial Board member of the journal PHAGE, and Advisory Board member for PhagePro, which develops phages for cholera.
